Marian Apparitions

The geography of the planet this full of what is called Marian Apparitions, places where supposedly the Virgin was has appeared to one or more people and which often become centers of pilgrimage and supposed miracles for many Catholics.

Some of those appearances have been recognized by the Vatican Church although it is not easy for this institution to recognize them as officers. Without doubt the most famous are those of Lourdes and Fatima, with major Marian shrines where millions of pilgrims each year attend guided by their faith.

Other Marian Apparitions have led to the establishment of religious orders such as the mercy, the Carmelites and the Dominican order among others.

Most of these appearances occur during the late 19th century and 20th century, perhaps because prior to this time perhaps the communication was not as the current or perhaps for some reason more divine.

Others of the most famous Marian Apparitions happen in Zaragoza, with the Virgin of the pillar, the our Lady of Mount Carmel or the Virgin of Candelaria in the Canary Islands. The most famous Marian appearance of all America is without doubt the Virgin of Guadalupe in Mexico.
